2020 CENSUS

April 1, 2020 is Census Day nationwide.  95% of residents will receive an invitation in the mail to participate in the Census, 5% will be invited to participate when a Census Taker visits their residence.  The US Constitution since 1790 Mandates that everyone in the country be counted every 10 years. The Census effects us on various levels. On a Community Level the Census figures help determine where new roads, schools, and public facilities are built. On the State Level The census affects policy decisions made by our legislature and funding for public services like education, healthcare, and economic development. National Level the census impacts Arkansas budgets for important programs like Medicaid, SNAP, highways and transportation, education & childcare programs, and affordable housing programs.
